Meet Your Teacher

Marta Žigrović, Croatian language teacher with more than 6 years of experience and master’s degrees in Croatian Language and Literature and Pedagogy
Born and raised in Croatia, Marta grew up speaking the Kajkavian dialect and was surrounded by family traditions and everyday Croatian culture she now brings into her teaching. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Croatian Language and Literature and Pedagogy from the University of Zagreb, where she discovered her passion for teaching Croatian as a foreign language.
Since then, Marta has helped learners from around the world who once believed Croatian was “too difficult”, guiding them with patience, cultural insight, and a clear, supportive learning approach.

Passion for teaching At the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, I achieved my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Croatian Language and Literature and Pedagogy. During my studies, I discovered my passion for teaching Croatian as a foreign language when my very first student reconnected with her baka through the language. That’s when I knew this was what I wanted to do.
