Recent project

This cozy cloudy day in Croatia feels fitting to reflect on a recent project I had the privilege to be part of. 🌧 In collaboration with JRS - Isusovačka služba za izbjeglice I had the opportunity to lead an intensive 3-months Croatian language course, and I’m so happy to see that all the students achieved great results in their final exams.

A few weeks ago, while designing one of my didactic games for the course, I found myself feeling the weight of deadlines and expectations. Doubts crept in — will these games be effective for all students, will they think that it’s not a proper way of learning…  BUT, I decided to trust the process, to grab back my scissors and to keep making my didactic games. Today when I am reading all the amazing feedbacks from my students and sharing their excellent results with them, I know that it was the right decision. ✂💪

By incorporating games and interactive activities, the students grasped the language more naturally and with genuine enthusiasm. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that when we create an environment where learners can actively participate and enjoy the process, the results follow. As a pedagogist, I’ve always believed that learning should be engaging and fun, but seeing this approach work so effectively in practice has been a true reminder of its potential.

I’m grateful to have been part of this journey, and I want to encourage my fellow educators to embrace their creativity in the classroom. Together, we can continue to evolve our teaching practices and make learning a more enriching experience for our students.
